How I am Fighting to Keep my small beauty brand alive

For nearly seven cycles of the moon, Asili Living has been devoted to crafting clean beauty products that are not only eco-friendly and vegan but also mindful of hormones, all wrapped in a modern and chic aesthetic. The journey has been filled with joy and satisfaction, as we received heartwarming feedback from our community. However, the winds of change, brought by the pandemic and other events, have presented new challenges to our small business, such as surging costs, decreased sales, and exhaustion. After careful reflection, we have decided to give ourselves two cycles of the moon to turn things around, starting from December 3, 2023

It’s important to be transparent: Asili Living is a one-person show. I am responsible for every aspect of the business, from research and design to website creation and manufacturing product formulation.

I am wholeheartedly committed to making this work. If I am not successful, I’ll will retire Asili Living and pursue other passions. This decision is not one I’ve made lightly. I’ve participated in clean beauty courses with an exceptional large US-based cohort to advance my knowledge and skills. While these opportunities have been beneficial in many ways, they also had critical limitations and drawbacks all things taught was from a US lens. Going forward, we will be exploring monthly markets to showcase our progress, if feasible.
